What is Streamership?

Streamership is an international online community with a vision to introduce the English and Japanese culture through gaming, anime, and live conversation with native EN/JP bilingual speakers. By blending entertainment, education, real-time interaction, friendship and immersive learning experiences, we aim to create a fun and inclusive environment where gamers, learning the language, can reach a conversational level of English and/or Japanese, applicable to their day to day life.

Our Story

Streamership was founded on November 20th 2017. Starting with a small group of gaming/streaming community members in southern California, we reached out to more peers who loved the idea of building a community with a passion of taking what we find through our hobbies and discovering ways to apply those values to our everyday lives.

As our community grew, we discovered many gamers worldwide share a deep interest in Japanese culture. Whether it is the language, anime, traditional arts, or modern trends, gamers we meet online expressed a genuine curiosity and appreciation. This collective interest not only enriched our interactions but also inspired us to create more opportunities for cultural exchange and learning.

We believe language barrier can often be an unfair disadvantage in creating potentially the best connection between not only Japanese and English speakers, but people of all backgrounds.

As a community lead by Japanese and English bilingual gamers, our mission today is to take you on an online journey across the sea where you can discover Japan in the language you speak through the gaming you love!
