Japanese: Advanced Guide

You're approaching the mid game!

You're at a point where you've completed the tutorial, got good amount of playtime in, and finally ready for that job advancement in your Japanese learning journey! This is where you're going to be honing in on your basic skills and learning new ones. It's time to farm more XP, explore new zones, and even conquer new challenges with a party!

Grind that Exp

One of the most basic mechanic in any games to increase your skill is to grind that exp, often time involving spamming existing abilities or trying new combos. What we recommend is for you to apply that logic to your Japanese learning. Revisit familiar vocabularies and phrases to max out your understanding the writing, definition, pronunciation, and application. Something like a flash card or even word of the day from a pool of known words or phrases might be a fun way for you to apply this to your day to day! You might just surprise yourself on a random day where you encounter a Japanese speaker and you find yourself understanding most or the whole conversation!

Explore new Zones

Exploring new zones is a great way to accelerate your learning. This means putting yourself in an environment, outside of what you are familiar with, in order to discover new knowledge to add to your Japanese repository. We are talking about more than just watching anime in Japanese with subtitles because you probably know how that ends up... Instead, some of our recommendations are playing family friendly games in Japanese settings or reading Japanese children books. These are fun, educational, and immersive way of learning conversational words in easier writing style. If you're a student, maybe your school has a Japanese or Anime club. There are infinite amount of options but something that requires you to actively engage with the Japanese content is what we find to be most successful!

Join a Party

As most multiplayer games, joining a party will definitely help you progress much more efficiently! Practicing with peers, who are also learning Japanese, can broaden your resources available to you. There's no doubt that speaking with native Japanese speakers is one of the best way to get to that conversational level of Japanese. Whoever you practice with, we encourage you to go out there and make mistakes and advise you to be open minded for corrections.

Now that you have some ideas, it's up to you to play through your learning journey!

Thank you for checking out our Japanese guides and we wish for a fun learning experience for you to get to the level of Japanese proficiency you are looking to achieve!
